I seriously made my new oncologist upset when they posted my CT results in my account before I had my appt to go over the results. I cancelled my appt based upon the stable results. I am IIIB positive ulceration, mitosis 18, one node positive. 18 mo out from dx. The new oncologist called on phone to blast me and said I would now go to chest X-rays only?! Is that the usual progression of watch and wait?

You are at high risk of progression. Melanoma can show up anywhere. I would think a CAT scan every 6 months is more commonly done in a case such as yours.
i think it is unwise of you to cancel your appointment. You need to have a good working relationship with your doctor. You are at very high risk of reoccurrence. It is unfortunate that your scan was posted prior to your appointment, but unless you are skilled in interpreting scans and lab work, missing your appointment because you are angry is foolish. Good luck to you.

I should say I did not cancel my appt because I was angry, I cancelled because it was 100 miles for the ct scan then 100 miles to be told the scan was stable. I am questioning how I can be repeatedly told I am at such a high risk for recurrence but am now being switched to chest X-rays only. Doesn't make since to me.
