Brief history:  11 odd braintumors foun Jan, 2011.  Had 7 or so srs "zaps"  Now 1 spot has "edema'd" again and is more than likely new tumor growth-  I guess they never know if it's tumor or necrosis.  I'd like to here from someone like JAG that has been thru it.  The "mass" in question near surface-  mid frontal area on left wich habors right motor strips.- which explains severe right leg seizures i've been having.

Thanks with Love for All,  Grady.

Grady, I had to deal w/this 3x (1st and then  last 2 surgeries(5 and 6)  They removed it surgically. Surgery is good because:

          1. Hopefully it is just radiation necrosis and you will be feeling better soon.

          2.  If it is tumor, it will need to be removed anyway, and that will decrease your overall tumor burden.

          3.  Intracranial edema sucks and necrosis will definitely cause it.

          Keep on keepin on bud.

Will say a prayer for you.

I had one of my zapped tumors "blow up" with edema – causing speech issues – they thought it was recurring and it was removed via craniotomy. turned out to be radiation necrosis.  If it's near the surface it might not be to hard to get via craniotomy, even though it's in the motor area.  Have you seen a neurosurgeon?  Maybe worth getting it out of there regardless of whether it's new tumor of necrotic.

Can't really help other than to offer encouragement that sometimes, it is "just" necrosis.  Have they tried steroids to reduce the edema and at least help out your leg seizures?
