Another question already! I was told I do not qualify for zelboraf because my BRAF gene is “abnormal”. Again, that happen to anybody else?Another question already! I was told I do not qualify for zelboraf because my BRAF gene is “abnormal”. Again, that happen to anybody else?

what do you mean 'abnormal'…give us the results…is it braf v600e or k? or wild type?
did you get tested for other mutations like ckit?
what have you tried so far?

Don't think they meant abnormal.Braf is either positive or negative.Zelboraf will only work on patients who have tested positive.If you are negative it is not a course of treatment.Find another course of treatment.Prayers go with you. Al

“abnormal” is the term they used. Im positive for the gene mutation, but it isn’t the same as everybody else’s. My onc did his very best at the big symposium last fall to find a center that had run across, but, alas, no one had seen it before…. I will ask again Friday. -
