    Saw oncologist this morning who felt lump in scar. Set up appt with Head& Neck Surgeon/ENT this afternoon. He thought it could be a clogged partoid duct from original surgery. That being said they won’t risk wait & see. Luckily got MRI scheduled tomorrow. He was going to speak with onc about doing PET scan. He said nodule was around 5mm. He prefers this over cutting open my face. I didn’t think a PET would light up a 5mm tumor. Anyway I’m extremely nervous and know someone who had Mel on scalp and then go to parotid gland. Doc said doesnt think gland would be involved. Any thoughts?

      Josh did he set up a biopsy etc?

      Or are they just moving foward as Melanoma?

      I had my PET/CT today get results and meet with Mela noma Onc and Head & Neck Surgeon next wed.

      Already confirmed the "re-occurance" as Met Melanoma with a FNA 2 weeks ago. It is between WLE and SNB scars. the lump itslef is about an inch across on both sides and you can get your hand on it and feel it outside the skin. Hard and imovable.

      By the way My MET is on and or in my Parotid Salivary Gland. That was confirmed through Ultrasound.

      original was primary to rear lobe…..so yes parotid can certainly be involved as It is on me right now.

      By the way if it gets hard to swollow at all don't let them tell you a blocked duct without proof it is not melanoma.

      Doing MRI to confirm either blocked duct or Mel. He said if partoid gland was involved that I’d have a lump closer to my ear. That all feels fine. Also my lump is superficial and movable. I don’t think that matters much at this point.

      Was it hard for you to swallow? I haven’t hard hard time swallowing except in morning when I’m dried out….I go have bad allergies. Hopefully this MRI will confirm either way.

      Let me know how everything goes.
