      Hi all,

My mom recently got diagnosed with mucosal melanoma (anorectal melanoma).
Started in rectum, spread to liver.
Oncologists started her on the first nivo treatment a week ago.
But now they’re wondering if they should do chemo for the time being for the fastest most potent way to target the cancer cells, since immunotherapy takes a while to kick in.
They’re also discussing whether to surgically remove the mass after the chemo.
This is all just discussions right now, so it’s been very frustrating for us.
This entire time we thought she would be on immunotherapy (and we’re still hoping she is as it sounds promising), but then just today, doctors are considering chemo out of urgency.

Would love to hear from you or your loved one with mucosal melanoma, your treatment plan, and how it’s going!

      Thanks all.
