      If you were amelanotic, what would you be looking for; skin wise for recurrence

          I also have this question. The first of my two primaries was amelanotic. I do not remember anything particularly sticking out to me about that skin area before it was removed. Even after I knew there was a melanoma there. Although that was 14 years ago  and memory has faded a bit .

                My primary was also Amelanotic.  It was a mole I had for years that changed.  It became elevated, tender, crusty and would bleed when I messed with it.  Basically for me the whole "moles that change" was my alerting factor.   Amelanotic is tricky, not the black and nasty moles we were warned about.
