Hello! I have a mole that has become raised (it was flat before) and has two shades of brown and also 2 black spots. I noticed these changes one year ago but I didn’t get to go to a doctor. I am really worried but at the same time I am afraid to go and get diagnosed. Is there anyone here that had the same symptoms and was diagnosed with melanoma?

The only one that can say for sure is a Dr., and only after a biopsy.  There are many pigmented lesions that aren't melanoma. Not seeing a doctor means worrying about what if, rather than getting it looked at and taking appropriate action (or just breathe a sigh of relief!).

Please get it checked Andiuta. The odds are that it is not melanoma, but like Sabklyn said, there is only one way to find out. Just in case it is melanoma, the earlier it is detected the better the outcome.

I was recently concerned about a mole on my shoulder that had become slightly raised and was two colors – that's what brought  me to the dermatologist. Pathology showed it was an atypical compound nevus – so not cancer.  The only way to find out is to go sooner rather than later if you are worried and get it checked out.  If you are concerned insist it get biopsied.  Odds are in your favor.  Good luck.

Thank you all for your advice and I will make sure that I will go to a doctor to see if there is really something going on. Preferably after I give birth these days smiley
