hi im an asain 33 year old
I’ve recently noticed a black mark with is not symmetrical and it looks like a black staine.
it used to be a small light brown mole but over the last 2 days 2 more stains have appeared in my foot along side the bigger black mark.
from your experience could this be Acral Lentiginous Melanoma if so what will happen after going to my first doctor appointment.

Hello,
I had an Acral Lentiginous Melanoma on the heel of my foot in 2010. At first, I also thought it was a stain…from stepping on grease in my garage.
Make an appointment with a dermatologist (or your primary doctor if your insurance requires). The dermatologist will most likely want to take a biopsy of the spot. This involves removing the spot, sometimes resulting in stitches to close the small wound that results. This is nothing to fear. They will numb the area, so there is very little pain or discomfort associated with this procedure.
After having the biopsy procedure, you will hear back from the Dermatologist's office with the results anywhere from a day to a week or so. They will then tell you what further actions are needed, if any.
Best of luck to you!
