My wife has completed 5 of 10 WBR treatments. After the 4th treatment she has experienced daily nausea and a few upset stomach. Is this a typical side effect? When does it subside? I know not everyone recacts the same but just checking on how others were effected?

We have been presented a consent form to review for Randomized open lable Phase 3 trial of BMS-936558. The trial is 2 out of 3 will receive the BMS-936558 and the other the investigators choice of either dacarbazine, paclitaxel, carboplatin. Should we enter into a trial like this where it is randomized? Would there be benefit with the other if we dont receiver the BMS?

Brief history my wife just completed he IPI April 2nd and had her follow up scans April 18th. We were told that the results from IPI were not good enough so they wanted to keep a treatment plan in front of us.

I don’t think there is a “typical” side effect of WBR, as you said everyone reacts differently. My husband completed WBR in November 2011, and mainly felt fatigue towards the end of this treatment. He did throw up the very last day of WBR once, but we were flying out to MDAnderson the next day for a consult and I think he was mostly nervous. I know your wife is young, so hoping she will do fine once she completes WBR, she just needs to rest! In terms of the trial, if your wife gets the chemo side, is there a crossover if she progresses? I would feel more comfortable with this trial, if ultimately she could get the BMS drug. Lots to consider! Take care, and know that Phil is doing fine 18 months after WBR, we all need hope! God bless, Valerie (Phil’s wife)

Thanks for the input. We are suppose to meet with her oncologist once we finish the radition treatment. I will probably have a list of questions by then. I just feel you never know if you asked all the right questions. thanks again..
