    Hi

Is it protocol to have a Brain MRI after being diagnosed stage IV? In all cases? Or some?

Thanks for any info you can offer!

    Nancy

When I was diagnosed stage IV in June 2013 they did a brain MRI because I was complaining about head aches. They would not have otherwise. In my opinion it should be protocol.

Frankly, if it was me just diagnosed as Stage IV, I would claim to have headaches or blurry vision even if I didn't. I don't normally lie about anyting, but I would definitely want at least one brain MRI with and without contrast ASAP.

Absolutely.  And I'd probably complain of a headache once every 6 months for a couple years.

If you are going into a clinical trial then they will do one before you start medication.
