Jim Goydas at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey has a strong melanoma program.  You may want to give him a try.  If you see him give him my regards; I haven't seen Jim in a year or more.

I know nothing about docs i n NJ — but both this site and AIM have melanoma doctor finder pages by state.

      This site: http://www.melanoma.org/learn-more/melanoma-treatment-center-finder

      AIM: http://www.aimatmelanoma.org/en/aim-for-answers/path-to-getting-a-diagnosis/finding-the-right-doctor.html

If you want to go to an NCI designated cancer center in NJ (i do in CA) that would be the one In New Brunswick, see this list: http://cancercenters.cancer.gov/cancer_centers/cancer-centers-list2.html#NJ

I live in New Jersey (Jersey City) but am treated at Sloan.  That is too bad your insurance won't let you leave the state.

I have heard great things about Dr Erik Whitman in Morristown (looks like he may have a Montclaire location also).   I originally saw a med onc at Hackensack.  Can't remember his name but wasn't impressed with him.  I also saw a surgical oncologist when I first moved up here that is in Newark.  I can give you his name and info if you like.

      Best of luck!
