    I've done a search of the board and did not see this listed. My apologies if it's been posted before. Seems like it's a very accurate method of detecting Melanoma on the skin. Approved in Canada, soon to be Europe and 2013 for US? Not certain of the time line…I was looking at an older video clip on YouTube.

      Yes, I’ve heard of this device. The best thing about the Aura is that it detects melanoma with 99% sensitivity. In addition, it also detects all other skin cancers, SCC and BCC, Even AK etc. Dr lycka out of Edmonton Canada has just purchased one. Be interesting to see how he finds it.

      What is this?  Why does my Dr/hospital not have told me about this?  Is this in use in the U.S.?

      Here is a link to the Abstract Study about this device, which, as I understand it has only three machines that are in Beta, pending approvals and licensing.

       Even though I do not use marketing statements to form medical opinions, here is a more detailed look at the device itself.

      Bottom line, it is an emerging technology showing great promise, but still has some hurdles to climb, therefore, it is a few years away from implementation  that is available to patient populations,

        I understand that The Verisante Aura is already approved for sale in Canada, Australia and all over Europe. I also was told that the device is being Beta tested in Canada right now, but that the device should be in Dermatologists offices before the end of 2012. At least in Canada. This tech looks to revolutionize the early detection of skin cancer! So cool.
