Hi Everyone.  Anyone have any thoughts or have been taking Curcumin for Melanoma.  I speak to so many patients that believe it has helped their Melanoma treatment.   What do you think. ?

I started taking it at the same time as I started on the c-kit targeted Gleevec after the IL-2 stoppd working.  I   have been stable for over t hree years since then.  Cannot say what, but it sure doesn't seem to have hurt any.  Havw alao heard reports of it being effetive on horses with melanoma.  Have haad no negative side effects from taking it.

It is an ingredient in the spice turmeric an d is believed to be on of the reasons that tpeople of India have lower rates of several cancers.  The curcumin recommended for patients is also called "Turmeric Extract" and is 95% curcumin.  The MD Anderson study recommended the curcumin that also contains an extract of black pepper to help the body absorb the curumin more readily.  Most people using curcumin take between 500 and 3,000 mg a day of it.

As a NED person you can take many more anti-oxidants than I can.  My targeted chemo uses oxidants to carry it into tumor cells s I had to reduce the amount I take.  You might research my previous recent posts about aspirin.  The work in this area is also interesting, if one tolerates asoirin well in ones digestive system.
