Jerry,
Thank you a lot for forwarding me a relevant information.
A quick update on me:so we met Dr.Hodi and his team at Dana Farber in Boston at 20 July;they were clearly interested in my case, as a matter of fact Dr.Hodi said that I am only 1 of 4!!!! cases of cervical mucosal melanoma in the US!/I've always known I am somewhat special, now confirmed for sure, LOL.My husband jokes I have to play the lottery/.He didn't state it in any way, but it seems to me they consider the mucosal to be on a league of its own;it displays a totally different clinical behavior than cutaneous and also the staging does not work quite the same because of it;unfortunately it is very rare and not studiied/understood enough/are't we "lucky" to get the kind that even doctors do not fully understand yet?/.They are going to test my slides in Oregon for C-kit as you already mentioned here before to see if Gleevek would be an option.
Anyway I have PET/CAT scans as well as gynecologist and dermatologist checks up at Dana Farber in September.Currently I am doing internal radiation/the so called breaky procedure/ ,that must have be one of the hardest interventins I've ever had due to the specifics of this procedure. They don't know if it will work for sure but hope so.
Here is my recipe for a tasty, refreshing, healthy and very easy to make Bulgarian summer cold soup, called "Tarator"-that my american husband loves/you maybe know the Spanish and Italian have the "Gaspacho", and the Greeks, Bulgarian and Turks we have the Tarator for cold summer soup.
I grate one whole cucumber in a big bowl, add 16oz Greek yogurt/I use "Chobani" brand, few garlic gloves crushed with the garlic press , add salt, dried dill and a drizzle of olive oil, they I stir this all together to get get a smooth mixture and then I add water until it reaches a liquid consistency. You can refrigate it and store it for up to few days and is always fresh and healthy and very tasty.I always make this on a hot summer day and is a life savior.
Best Regards,
Teodora

Off topic or not, Michael that recipe seriously looks delish. I bookmarked the page.
Teodora, my son is also one of those "special" mucosal melanoma patients. His was on the tip if his tongue. Oral melanoma is rare, but on the tongue is even more so. He is c-kit negative.
take care
