      Just wondering if you can have a drink or two while having the opdivo treatments? Would like to have a margarita for New Years Eve!

          Yes;
          While the instructions recommend to avoid it. My doctor and other specialists say that consuming moderate(just a few drinks) now and then are okay.
          I had the occasional beer or glass of wine when I was having my infusions, and it was fine. God bless and happy holidays to you,

              When I saw people bringing coolers to infusions I thought – “this is the place!”

              But when I brought my own and cracked open a tall boy Budweiser, after the IV was set, it was politely explained to me that since I had already lost my hair, it was a no go with the cooler.

              Had to wait till I got home.

                I suggest waiting at least 2 months after your last infusion of Yervoy/Opdivo to drink any alcohol. I waited over 3 years after my last infusion of Yervoy/Opdivo, before I drank a little wine. Before cancer I drank about 1 bottle of wine per week. Moderate alcohol use may help prevent heart disease, but cancer is the more immediate threat to my health.

                    I asked before my Opdivo/Yervoy treatments. I was told I needed to protect my liver. After 3 combo treatments my liver numbers were toxic. And had to stop treatments. After 4 months of high does of Prednisone my liver numbers were normal enough to start the Opdivo maintenance. At that time I would have a occasional glass of wine. Every two weeks blood tests to look at ALT/AST numbers.
                    It had given me Hepatitis D (drug induced, like Tylenol etc) Everything ok now and I can drink a little.
                    But watch your liver health.
