Dear Friends;
I am a teacher and I have the first week of April off. The family and I are going to San Diego in between my bi monthly Nivo treatments. I am new to this but know I must be protected when in the sun but I still want to be on the beach! Any cheap/reasonable suggestions for clothing for the beach would be appreciated! As my wife is also going through breast cancer treatments (her last chemo is next week) this will be a hugely needed getaway for us.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Ted

Hey Ted!
Teachers rock!!! Glad you are going to get to take a vacay!!! There are many nifty clothing lines that are great, but pretty costly. I've never stopped hiking or running or going to the beach (when I get the chance). I tend to wear old long sleeved shirts over well sunscreened body parts! I do have a hat with a wide brim all the way round. I have vitiligo (induced by nivo…which is a good thing) so I have to be careful, but with good basic sunscreen, wearing sleeves and a hat, and being out in the am and evening – oh, and yes, I am the weirdo walking around parks and boatanical gardens under an umbrella on a sunny day – I've never gotten burned or even tan. Folks on BRAF/MEK sometimes require greater protection due to the photosensitivity those drugs can induce. I'm sure others will chime in with more tips.
Anyhow, ENJOY!! Live large! celeste
