    Hiya,

I’ve never posted on anything like this before so I’m just looking for some advice please. I’ve recently noticed a dark horizontal line along my big toe nail. From what I remember i haven’t injured it in anyway. Am I over reacting in thinking it could be melanoma?? I’m 31, in good health. No other symptoms. From what I’ve read, most melanomas under the nail takes form in a vertical black line.

    Many thanks.

No one can really say – best thing if you're concerned is to have a doctor check it out – preferably a dermatologist

Hi, I’m in the same boat as you at the moment. Strange brown line on my toe nail but no other symptoms and feeling fine. I went to a doctor with mine and he referred me to a dermatologist which I will be going to on the 13th November but until then I’m continually freaking out and so so scared. I would suggest you go to a dermatologist too just to be on the safe side!

      take care and good luck

Thanks for your reply. I keep putting it off going and I don’t really know why. Feel a bit silly as I’m sure it must just be a bruise. I hope your appointment goes well xx
