    Hi All,

     

    My dad was just recently diagnost with melanoma . He is going to see an oncologist this friday, but I was reading on the comments and suggestions that its a good idea to be seen by a melanoma specialist. Does anyone know of one in the Sacramento area?

      If you aren't a patient with UCDavis Medical Group HMO you can still be seen. You will need to get your medical records and scans, etc to them to review.

        I would highly recommend Dr. KIM at San Francisco
        Oncology at the California
        Pacific Medical Center.
        He is a renown melanoma specialist – he is wonderful.
        You are not that far worth
        the couple hours!

      I believe UCSF also has a top notch program. I k ow it's a bit of a haul from Sac, but another reasonably close option

      I am a huge fan of UCSF melanoma center. Their dermatologists and oncologists are hands on in the top research of melanoma and treatments. I've had nothing but top notch experiences with UCSF. They have patients travelling from Redding, Modesto, San Luis Obispo, and even further.

      I see Dr. Kirane who is the Melanoma Specialist in Surgical Oncology, UCDavis Cancer Center.
