In the news this morning my personal doctor, Robert Andtbacka, who’s is a leading melanoma specialist at the Huntsman cancer institute announced that they are one step closer to finding a cure by injecting lesions known to have melanoma with a mutilated form of the cold and herpes virus. The point of this injection is to activate the body’s immune system to fight the melanoma and also to teach your body that the melanoma cells are bad and require fighting. They are still very early in the trails but patients who have had very advanced melanoma are having great results and even being deemed cancer free! They are still doing clinical trials, I don’t know the specifics and what candidates they are looking for but your questions can be answered by calling his office at 1-801-585-0303. Keep on fighting!

Love, Melissa stage 3b, biochemo in 2013, year 3, primary left upper shoulder with lymph node involvement.

Thank you Melissa. I have been very impressed by their commercial as well as my late 2nd cousin who just passed from his cancer. He never made it there but we both thought it seemed great. It is good to know they have a leading edge treatment for melanoma dealing with the relatively new virus meds. In less than 3 weeks I have my 3rd pd1 scan. I'm praying for no growth which would be a miracle but preparing for the worst. Good to know they are another option to consider. Thank you.

This is very similar to a report on 60 minutes this sunday on the success they are having fighting brain tumors with a mutated form of polio virus

Someone at work told me about this today and showed me the news report they had done on it.  I think it's great and extremely promising if they're using the term "cure" instead of just calling it a treatment

This sounds very interesting, thanks for sharing. Do you know which type of lesions are eligible for this treatment? Cutanous versus lesions in organs, etc? A link to more information about this therapy study would be appreciated.

      Best,
