Hi. My wife has started treatment and after one cycle her liver enzymes have shot up. Has anyone gone through this?. Thanks, Doug

I was on the BMS ipi plus nivo or placebo trial last year. Although a blinded trial, all indications are that I received nivo rather than the placebo (ipi 3mg/kg + nivo 1mg/kg). After 4 doses over 3 months my hepatic enzymes spiked to about 8X normal, although I was asymptomatic. I was teminated from the trial (I was NED by then and have remained so) and put on a tapering dose of steroids which brought my liver function tests back to normal over the next 2 months.

That combination, although remarkably effective, does have a majority of patients getting significant side effects. I have heard of patients having their side effects being treated with steroids but, in some cases, continuing with infusions.

Best of luck – hope things work out for continued immunotherapy treatments.
