    The Claire Marie Foundation was established in 2014 following the death of Claire Marie Wagonhurst, a sparkling 17 year old who lost a long battle with adolescent melanoma as a result of changes her body went through during puberty.

      This is so sad.  It's true.  My son had a mole that had been there since he was a baby and began to flatten out, darken and spread when he reached puberty.  The pathology came back showing dysplastic changes and the derm told us puberty can trigger these things.  I have also been told that the hormone changes of pregnancy can be a trigger.
