I had a mole on the back right calf of my leg, and the first dr. I saw, said he did’nt think it was anything to worry about, in oct. 99, my mom kept pressing me for a 2nd opinion, as it kept getting worse it was black, bleeding, cracking open, etc.., in march I went the army hospital, had the mole removed, and 2 days later was admitted to the hospital for severe infection, and hospitalized for 4 days, at which point the dr. said I had stage 3 melanoma, and I did’nt hear anything else except vanderbilt. I was shaking so much, the nurse called my husband out of the field, and my family. From that point on, it was very aggresive, with surgeries, and testing of my lymphnodes and 3 tested positive in my right groin, so they took out my lymphnodes. I battled for 5 yrs. and then released from the clinical trial study. I’ve not had any more episodes, and now 15 yrs out, I have another mole popped up, turned black, started itching, cracking, and bleeding, and today, fell off, and I’ve got sores all over the top of my head, and they are scabbed and bleeding, and spreading for over 7 weeks now. I can’t seem to get my primary to take anything seriously??!!!!! How scary this is. I went to Nashville Skin & Cancer here in clarksville for a check about 3 months ago, and the dr. did not give me hardly a check at all??!!! She did’nt even check in my hair, down on my feet, privates, nothing!!!! I feel like screaming, how do I get help??!!!
