I had a .6mm spitzoid melanoma removed from my right arm in 2018. A few weeks ago on the same side up on shoulder near my neck I felt what I first thought was a pimple. It didn’t go away and turned into a lump under the skin and today my dermatologist removed it and sent it for biopsy. I am obviously pretty upset. It has been six years and I n…Read more

Hi Zap. This really helped me today. I am 5 years out on a spitzoid too but have an enlarged lymph node near the site and have been going in for periodic scans with one coming up soon. I am filled with anxiety and fear. Thanks for sharing your story with us. It helps to know there are others that understand. All the best to you.

Hi all. I had a .06 melanoma removed in 2018 and so I am diligent about my skin. I am 49 years old. In 2019 a black freckle appeared on my face. Went straight in to dermatologist they said not to worry, looked like same pattern of my other (many) moles just darker.

I can provide no words of wisdom but I wanted to respond and let you know that I am thinking of you and you are not alone. Waiting on lymph node biopsy results for bad lymph node near scar and I am at an all-time low. All the best to you, and keep advocating for yourself.

I was originally 1a in 2018 with atypical spitzoid tumor. Do I push for a full dissection instead of the needle biopsy to avoid the very small but real possibility of “needle spread” or is there no choice here?
