In June of 2010, I found that an existing mole on my back had exhibited some changes. i had it removed that day and it was found to be a melanoma in very early stages (0.85mm). I had the area around the mole excised and believed that I was very lucky to have caught it so early.
In May of this year (2015), I began experiencing some abdominal discomfort. I thought I had a gastrointestinal upset. Two days later my abdomen started to swell. Two days after that I went to hospital. They told me that I had Stage 4 cancer in my obmentum and that there was nothing they could do for me and to go home. A week after that I was back in hospital having had a seizure. It was confirmed that the cancer had moved to my brain. Again they tried to send me home. We refused to leave the hospital without seeing an oncologist which we did. I went home on a Friday and my husband was told that i would likely be dead before the weekend was out. My fiends rallied around and I had someone with me around the clock. My husband liaised with the oncologist and I began taking Debrafenib. I had a CT scan two weeks ago which showed a complete response ie all the tumours had disappeared. I am still here.
