I went back for my post-op appointment, lymph nodes and tissue are negative, so happy.  I also had a lung scan and the nodule has not changed, will have another scan in six months.

The burning pain is still there, though it has lessened a bit.

Thanks to everyone for all your help!

Thank you all very much.  I will try the washcloth, the tingly part on the back of my arm is felt down to my elbow now.  I go back for my post-op appointment on Jan. 31.  The bright side is that I am right handed and all this is on my left side 🙂

      Take care~Pennie

I take it the burning just has to fizzle out on its own, there is nothing we can put on it or take to lessen it?  I also have the sticky feeling and it is quite painful to lift my arm.  So much so that I had my hair cut short a few days ago.  It is so much easier to manage until this heals.

      Thanks so much.

      Hi Missy,

I see Dr. Zager at Moffitt also and am still healing from the WLE and SLNB.

I also have a nodule either on my lung or growing from the bone around the lung.  It is unknown if it is melanoma related at this time, I see Dr. Toluza at Moffitt for anther scan on Jan. 31.  Unlike you, I don't have any symptoms.

You said your appointment is Monday Jan. 28.  Could it be the 24 or 31?  I'll be there most of the day on the 31, I have 3 appointments.  I live in Melbourne, (3 hour drive one way) so I have them get as much done as they can for each trip.

Tak care, I wish you well~Pennie

      Hi Tricia,

I am confident that the burning sticky feeling is normal, because so many others have experienced the same thing.  I did have extensive bruising all around my lymph node incision and down my left breast area.  The nurse said that as long as it was not red that it was okay.  The Dr. asked if I had a fever and I do not, I check it everyday.  But the lymph node site was a concern from the beginning.  It is not a good feeling being so far away.  Maybe I should have done like you and seen someone locally, but I go back for my post-op on Monday and it does look better, though still painful.

Dr. Zager, I am in contact with him and his nurse, via phone and email.  I appreciate hearing from those that have experienced similar situations too.  Being three hours away presents its challenges.  If everything comes back clear, I may think about going to some place closer for my periodic scans, possibly MD Anderson in Orlando.

Take care, hope you are doing well~Pennie

Wow, one year, that is a long time.  I only had three lymph nodes removed and was not expecting no where near the amount of pain that I have had.  It is two weeks today since the surgery.  My WLE gave me no problems what so ever.

      Best wishes to you~Pennie

Thank you, I replied back.  Am doing good, the SLNB site gets a teeny better each day.  I went off the vicoden 3 days after surgery.  I have it if needed and am subbing with ibuprofen as needed.
