I didn’t get to respond but want to chime in about how encouraging you all are. I am at my 7-year NEDversary this month for IIB scalp melanoma.
I am having some symptoms that bought me a head MRI scheduled for tomorrow but trying to be positive that it’s not related to melanoma and I can continue my NED path. -

And oh, I freely admit I am a hypochondriac. 🙂

The PA that took my sample just called and informed me that she had good news: benign keratosis (praise God)! I was just certain that since this pink papule was in the same location inside my excision site that this was a recurrence. Wow, just goes to show that there is hope when everything appears bleak. That said, had it been mel, there’s still hope. Prayers for all of you that read this, replied or prayed for me. I occasionally check-in here as I know I may be back with this nasty stuff. -

Thank you, made it through the weekend so in just a day or so I should have biopsy results. I guess when I felt a slightly raised pink bump in the grafted area of my WLE, I tended to think worst case. It looked nothing like initial nodule and the derm said she wasn’t concerned but this wait has been my most anxious yet, thinking there’s nothing else it could be which isn’t true, obviously. Thank you for your reply…it made my day -

Oops, I must’ve accidentally posted as anon…wondering if the lack of replies is indicative that many find little to be positive about in this scenario, i.e. that this is likely melanoma return ?

Thanks to all! I had head CT scan done and it showed no abnormalities. Almost immediately after this, I observed (felt) a new papule on my scalp in my scar. See related post. Prayers for all of you. -

Thanks, I needed that. Sometimes, it's nice to read words that provide hope and encouragement. I am going to see the oncologist but since it takes awhile to get office time, I will have a longer timeline to consider the symptoms and if they're related to something more serious.

Thanks for your reply Teej, I pray that this new spot can be dealt with quickly and it is isolated.
Your story is one I hear all too often about Mel coming back near original site. I have many things to be thankful for and will focus on a strong faithful mindset. I hope you do the same.
