| Bio | I am 53 years old, married to my best friend (Tim), and we have one amazing daughter-Olivia, who is 23-almost 24 years old. I am a Registered Nurse, and practiced most of my career in Neonatal Intensive Care. In 2009, I started teaching nursing students and I am now the Director of the Program. I recently completed my Doctorate in Nursing Education, which was a great challenge and a professional accomplishment I am very proud of. I find now that I am focused on a new challenge in my life, which includes learning all I can about my condition and the treatments available to prevent Melanoma from returning. This is scary and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I am grateful for the new targeted treatments available, but am concerned about how I can better tolerate the side effects. Doing nothing is not an option for me. I would be glad to chat with anyone who is looking for support and hopefully in turn we can support one another. |
