Bio

I had a small mole removed from my arm and learned it was melanoma. I was a terrified 24 year old but the mole was removed and no further treatment was needed. It was been 12 years now and I’m ever so grateful for my health.
Three years ago my mom was diagnosed with mucosal melanoma of the vulva. For the first year she was NED but then year two came with several surgeries. Last spring she was finally treated with Ipi. She went into respiratory failure after 3rd dose and was hospitalized for 3 weeks in May 2015. Then August she learned of a brain met and had surgery. It was successful and we were relieved and grateful. My mom took 2 doses of keytruda late October and early November. She has lupus/autoimmune challenges and again went into respiratory distress being hospitalized December through holidays. There are mets in her lungs that have grown (as happens with keytruda) but she hasnt gotten well enough to continue fighting. Though my mom clearly wants to keep fighting. We’ve been planning my wedding for this April and praying to celebrate good health and fresh starts!
