Bio

33 year old female. Found small hard bump in the center of a mole on the right of my abdomen when I was in third trimester. Shave biopsy took two weeks to come back- melanoma. I was induced at 39 weeks and had a beautiful baby girl! SLN and wide excision done 9 days postpartum. Took two weeks for results- and much to my surgeon and my surprise 2 out of 3 nodes positive for melanoma. Then scheduled for PET scan and sent to a medical oncologist. PET scan can back clear and medical oncologist sent me for MRI. MRI was clear too. Had axillary dissection 6 weeks after SLN surgery. All remaining nodes came back negative. Started Opdivo in April 2019, 6 weeks after axillary dissection.
It’s definitely has been a roller coaster ride and not how I could have ever imagined my first pregnancy or maternity leaving going. I am enjoying my beautiful baby girl and have a wonderful husband and family tht have help so much through all of this!
