Just wanted to get your thoughts on here. My husband was diagnosed with 2c in March 2016, negative borders, did adjuvent therapy that was too toxic for his body. Scans since then have been WNL. Pet/CT scan three months ago showed 7mm lung nodule and had small amount of FDG uptake. Fast forward three months and we have repeated scan, this time only chest CT. Now there are three nodules. The previous one is still 7mm, there is a 5mm ground glass nodule and a 4 mm nodule. He has had no recent illness or infection. He is feeling fine. They said it could be from recent infection is he was sick. He has not been. They want to repeate PET/CT in three months. Would you recommend gettting a second opinion. I know that it is still too small to biopsy, but I would hate to wait around for three months for it to grow if it is cancer. My husband is only 37 and we have three small children at home. The waiting game is very stressful.

I'd get the second opinion but then I tend to be overly cautious.  If he isn't already I'd have him see a melanoma specialist at one of the cutting edge centers.  I'm situated close to Boston so I'm very lucky as I'm close to the best.  Good wishes to you both and stay strong.  This disease is brutal on the body and the mind.

I agree with Jennifer. My husband has lung nodules similar in size to yours. His oncologist, a melanoma specialist at UCLA, is not worried about them, but is watching. I feel confident in his approach. ~ Carol

My doctor at UVA did the same thing he watched and waited till mine was large enough to biopsy.
