    Hello everyone!

    Getting a melanoma diagnosis can feel completely overwhelming, and it is totally normal to freeze up when you finally sit down with your oncologist or dermatologist. We’ve all been there!

    For our newly diagnosed members, knowing what to ask can make a huge difference in feeling empowered and in control of your care. Some common questions include:

    Can you explain my pathology report to me in simple terms (e.g., Breslow depth, ulceration, mitotic rate)?

    Is the melanoma confined to the top layer of the skin (in situ) or is it invasive?

    Do I need a sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB)?

    What are the benefits and side effects of the treatment options you are recommending (like immunotherapy or targeted therapy)?

    Are there any clinical trials I qualify for?
