My husband has now had four different cancers…bladder, colorectal, vocal chord and now mucosal melanoma.  He is getting Keytruda infusions every three weeks and is waiting to be acceptes for a clinical trial where they will inject directly into the spot on his neck.  Would love to hear from thers with th same unusual melanoma and how it has been treated.

My father was diagnosed with mucosal melanoma originating in the sinus cavity in 2007.  He too has had a run in with colorectal cancer. He's had numerous nasal and cranial surgeries to deal with local recurrances.  At the end of last year, he went through adjuvant biochemo in hopes of preventing a melanoma recurrance.  This month however, we confirmed that the cancer had metastisized and found tumors in his abdomen during a routine followup and yesterday he started immunotherapy.   He had his first infusion yesterday.  He will have a 30min infusion every other week and after 4 infusions he will get scanned.  That's the plan so far.  Otherwise, you couldn't tell that something was wrong in his body.

I've been visiting this forum almost everyday for the past 9yrs since his first diagnosis and am amazed at the progress and evolution of the treatment of this disease.  The fact that there has been more advancement in treatment in the past 5yrs than there has been in the last 40yrs is encouraging.

Thank you.  Just found this forum today and it is very informative.  Husband has one in his nose and the other in his neck.  He started on Keytruda and he is fine, playing golf, eating well.
