    I've had some soreness when lying down lately, and I was able to localize it to these 3 areas (circled in green):

    The pictures are taken from different angles.

    The moles in question do look kinda strange. I have a doctor's appointment on 7/21 and I will get it checked out then.

      You did not say if your appointment was with a dermatologist or a family or primary care doctor. For mole checks I would absolutely go to a dermatologist. Good luck with your visit on 7/21!!

        It was with my nurse practitioner. I'm on an HMO, so I must first get a referral.

      Honestly never heard anyone describe their moles as tender.  Sometimes moles will itch but that isn't the same.  Impression when you look at your back – no ugly ducklings.  The three moles look similar in characteristics.  You are typically looking for an ugly duckling – a mole that changes or looks different from all your other moles.  Good luck at your appointment.

        Let me explain the feeling a bit better: When I touch them, they feel sore. Maybe "tender" isn't the right word here.

        I got the "tender" wording from this and other sources like this:

        "Moles are painless. If you have a mole that is bleeding, oozing, itching or tender to the touch, it might signal melanoma."
