We just found out that my husbands melanoma has spread to his spine.

Has anyone had to deal with this? With melanoma moving to the bones? If so what was the treatment or prognosis?

Foes this mean he now has stage 4? His oncologist is gone till next week and I can't get any answers,

    Thank you.

I was recently moved to stage 4 with my last PET showing 2 spots in my spine as well as a spot in my liver.  Prior to the PET, I was stage 3.  I had been on Taf/Mek and then Zelboraf/Cotellic.  Once I was stage 4, my treatment was switched to immunotherapy.  I just had my second infusion of opdivo/yervoy a few says ago.  One of the swollen lymph nodes I could actually feel under my arm has been getting smaller and less noticeable since my first treatment.  I am BRAF positive.  I'm looking forward to my next two treatments and then another PET/CT.  I'm feeling well with little side effects.

I am sorry you and your husband are dealing with this.  For more information about therapy look below your post to one by 'jdc' or check out this link:    https://www.melanoma.org/find-support/patient-community/mpip-melanoma-patients-information-page/just-diagnosed-stageiv-left

I break down the targeted and immunotherapy options.  Hope this helps.  There is hope.  Hang in there.  See a melanoma specialist and ask here if you have more questions.  I wish you my best.  Celeste
