So we ended up not doing the biopsy due to subcutaneous tumors popping up in 5 spots. They scheduled him for a pet and ct. They figured the skin was pointless to biopsy due to the fact that we knew it had grown. The pet showed the mets we can feel and a few that aren’t detectable yet. One of his liver lesions was unchanged at 3.1 cm, however the other that was 1.8 grew to 5.1 x 3.4 in less than a month. It also moved to the porta hepatis region of his liver and is protruding out. It is still considered to be inside the liver.

They gave us the option of a vaccine trial where they removed a lot of blood and then do something to the blood and return it and be hospitalized for a week for the vaccine to be placed in a catheter in the leg. They also said we could try IL2 again. He’s not a candidate for chemo or BRaff. Not sure what to do.

              Hey Jenni,

No worries on your post on FB to my page.  Thank you for taking the time to do that.  I am looking into a fundraiser page on the internet that I can link to facebook.  I also spent a lot of time last night on bended knee and have more clarity this morning on the direction I feel we need to go.  Thank you for that.

I didn't know if you noticed but on Eric's Cancer Page on FB I have pictures posted of the Leukapherisis and the catheter that they implanted as well as him getting a dose of the vaccine by a nurse.  Probably won't help in the decision but it will show you what to expect.

Thanking of you!  Hugs, JillNEric in OH

You'll have to request to join and tell me where you read about us.  The Leukapherisis wasn't a big deal.  The running of the catheter was painful for him but it's like a PICC line so no worse than that.  The Intralymphatic Vaccine treatment was VERY easy but didn't work for him.

Have you been to see a melanoma specialist? I was just reading through your patnet, and I'm wondering where you are getting advice.  Either way, I would look into biochemotherapy or ipilimumab to see if there are any results.

                          Best

Contact Delcath they have a system which delivers high dose drugs isolated to the liver at much higher doses than the whole body can handle. Apparently results were promising that were presented at ASCO this year.

                              best wishes

                                  Jenny,

I have liver mets and have been through bio-chemo, finished 6 rounds then 2 months of maintenance then detected more  new tumors in the liver.

I am starting the PD-1 With Vacine Trial 1st week of December @ Moffit and praying I am a responder.

This trial will not accept you if you were on ipi first, but you can do ipi if the PD-1 does not work.

Sending you Positive Thoughts & Prayers.
