I am currently 6-1/2 months into the Interferon injections (3 times a week) for Melanoma Stage 3b.     One of the many side effects which is driving me absolutely insane is the constant "belching".  Occurs at least 4-6 times per minute.  Feels much more like belching than acid reflux.    Have not found anything that relieves symptoms.   Either it doesn't help at all, or it's too strong and makes me nauseous.    Since I work, I try to "internalize" the belching while at work.   Dr

Very open to any suggestions from anyone else who has experienced this as well.   Most of the other side effects I am able to handle, but this one is wearing me down quickly!!   Thank you!!

I did a year of interferon, but never had that problem. Lots of other issues. Hang in there.

I did the full year of interferon, too, and I never had that problem.  Please call your doctor and tell him/her about this.  I have never heard of anyone having this side effect from interferon.  Good luck!

Thanks – I have discussed with Oncologist – this is a known side effect of chemo.    (I have a friend who had this problem when being treated for leukemia, and a family member had the same issue when under chemo for colon cancer.    Neither one knew of a good treatment for this.)    Just hoping someone out there has found a way to treat this.    It is awful!!
