Has anyone experienced this? The connection to vitiligo and loss of pigment is pretty well documented, but its proving difficult to find anything about hyperpigmentation. I started with the ipi/nivo combo and have continued onto just nivo with Braftovi & Mektovi. I have vitiligo on my forearms and some spots on my neck, but I noticed a darker patch appearing on my face, by my temple. Wondering if its connected to anything and if it has any particular significance.

I have experienced both. Hyperpigmentation first, around the base of my neck, like a ring next to a round collar t-shirt. Vitiligo about eight months into the treatment. The hyperpigmentation maybe due to the sun since I spend a fair amount in the garden. Over time, the hyperpigmentation got much better and is not very noticeable. It is interesting to see where my immune system is working since I just need to look at my moles and I see a light halo around them. Currently, this is happening in the ring around my torso just under my breasts. My largest tumors are in my liver. My latest CT scan shows that the largest one is disintegrating.I have also found the following link which maybe helpful.
“In some cases, like vitiligo, pigment loss occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks melanocytes and targets them for destruction. In some cases, the disease can be reversed by suppressing the immune system and promoting melanocyte regeneration
At the other end of the spectrum is hyperpigmentation – too much pigmentation – called melasma. Albinism, vitiligo and hyperpigmentation are all disorders where patients show different responses to hormone changes, metabolism or drugs, depending on their gender and skin type.”

I have. I’ve got sections of hyper pigmentation on my elbows, and right after that developed loss of pigmentation on my forearms. It looked really freaky at first, but both have kind of mellowed out after a while, or I’ve just gotten used to it.
