Hi Donna,
I saw an earlier post that you said that you were going to do a 2nd round of IPI yet you are NED.
My questions is why did you decide to do a 2nd round if you are NED w/o any tumors/subqs on your leg? Did you have scans before deciding on the 2nd round of IPI.what were the results?
I wish you a good response on your 2nd round.

Hi,
My next appt is 5/11, and this will be an oncology checkup with a PET/CT scans, labs and visit with my melanoma oncologist, at the end of my 12 week period "off" Ipi…..I had my first 12 weeks "on" Ipi as part of a clinical trial (I was stage 3a with unrestable melanoma). Now that Ipi is FDA approved my clinical trial is over (I am past the 30 days past the FDA approval). The clinical trial coordinator said that my oncologist plans to offer me the chance to do a second 12 weeks "on" if I am still a "responder", meaning if I havent progressed to stage 4. I will of course wait to see my oncologist and have my scans this week. I will choose to do the second 12 weeks of Ipi if I am offered. I think the idea is to keep the immune system "revved" up.
I will update the board after my Wednesday appt. Thank you for asking for clarification!
