My husband will begin biochmotherapy for the first time next week.  I would love to hear feedback from anyone that has been through this.  What to expect, any tips or advice on the best way to get through this with the least amount of side effects.  We are not looking forward to this AT ALL!  Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

Going for round 4 of Biochemo tomorrow. I did really well on first two rounds, it is rough while in the hospital but they try and give you meds for symptons before they happen. Tell the nurses as soon as you feel something. Do not try and tough anything out it is harder to get things under control the longer you wait. Drink lots of fluid and eat what you can. My wife stays with me and she will usually stay on top of things for me as i am kinda out of it once the adavan kicks in. Try and do normal things each day if possible shower and walk etc. It again is tough but doable. Fight the fight and be well.

Thank you for your reply.  My husband is wondering how you typically feel on the two "off" weeks?  Where are you doing your treatments?

Glad to hear you're working your way through this treatment, thrashter. The ABC staff was really good to me while I was there too.

If you remember, say hi to Robin G. for me, tell her I'm still hanging around.

Please see the other posts, it is an old treatment that doesn't increase overall survival. I did it and recurred shortly after.  Look to the new drugs!  Go to clinicaltrials.gov and melanomaforum.org for other ideas.  This is a toxic cocktail that is hard to come back from.
