I had a sentinel node biopsy on January 13th almost 6 days again now also had a skin graft on my lower shin so my calf and foot are wrapped up in a splint.. My question is was anyone achey at all? I'm not really swelling at all but my upper thigh muscle is super achey … I thought this was weird.. Do you think it is muscle swelling from surgery!? I looked up Lymphadema and I am pretty certain it's not that as I said the swelling really isn't even there.. Just kinda achey.. Thanks in advance hope your responses kill some of my anxiety !

It might be something as simple as tensing your leg a lot or putting it in a different position. Since I've had 8 knee surgeries, I've experienced something similar and attributed mine to tensing muscles in response to the pain/trauma/uncomfortable surgery.

Nerves in your shin pass through your thighs so I am not surprised that you have what is often called referred pain. If you see redness extending from the shin area, increased swelling, develop a fever, call your doctor right away. You could try taking some ibuprofen to cut down on the inflammation surrounding tour graft if it is ok with your doc. Muscle ache could also be from keeping your leg in a certain position due to the splint. Warm packs to the thigh area might help too. Good luck.
