    Tim,

POW wrote a very valid post on the importance of the threaded archives. All patients and caregivers deserve an answer to whether its possible to bring this back or not. It is critical to all of us and every effort should be made for it happen. We deserve an answer from you.

      Tim,

On the old website, When I person replied to a post, it would go to top of the posts. Now, it just ends up as a reply to the original post which could be on a 3rd or  th page of posts. The "recent" reply could be easily missed.

Please try to fix this it so that the most recent reply goes to the top of the posts on Page 1.

Would alsoappreciate your reply on this issue.

      Thanks

Actually, that feature does exist on the current web site; it's just hard to find. There is a pale blue rectangle just above the posts. It is the "Sort by" box, although it doesn't say so. The default is sort by "Topic post date" but you can also choose "Reply post date". If you click that you will get the result you are looking for. Unfortunately, every time you go back to the bulletin board, the default sort kicks in again but hey, don't sweat the small stuff, right?

On the "new old" BB when it was opened the arrangement shifted from the 'old-old" BB which was only in the order of original postings, to being only in the order  of the last response posted.  The MRF changed it sothat we could have either or both sorts availble.  I found it advantages to have two tabs open, one with the original post sort and another tab with the latest reply sort.   It is a pain in the neck to try to jump back and forth as the new (and up and down the page to reply and return to  the overall posts listings).

The sort by reply date is what I was looking for.  Just need a way to make it sticky now!

Tim is aware there are still some functions not up and running and so, I believe, are the web developers.  I, personally, miss the "See all posts by XXXX".  You'd be better off sending an email to the MRF directly because that is probably checked more often than  general posts on the BB.

We are not paying for this service, and may not have ever contributed any money to the foundation.  So, I feel that this is looking a gift horse in the mouth, and maybe we should be a bit more understanding about glitches in the system.  If they already know about these things, then presumably they will do something about it when they can.

I agree this is a wonderful service, and we are all appreciative.  However, this question has been asked multiple times, and no one from MRF has acknowledged the request.  I don't think that is asking too much.

I so miss the old posts, even reviewing on occasion the history of my own posts, since I have been posting for several years now!  I emailed MRF weeks ago, but haven't gotten an answer on whether this feature will ever return.  I totally appreciate this Board, it kept me sane a few times in our almost four year fight, and I love the support, encouragement, and knowledge that we all share in this battle with melanoma.  However, I feel like our child was changed in a way that isn't positive, and is clearly less productive, so I still hope the old features are being worked on and will return someday.  I too would at least like an answer, on whether it's doable, looking at older posts by many warriors is not only a way to learn from their experiences, it's a way to honor their fight!   Valerie (Phil's wife)

      Maureen:

Thank you for flagging this to my attention.  I was at the Society for Melanoma Research meeting over the past few days (great meeting by the way!) so am just now seeing this.

A couple of people have sent emails to me on this issue and I have pushed those along to the tech person who developed the new website.  He is working on a solution and it should be ready in early January at the latest.

I understand the interest in this feature.  I have in the past remembered a post from someone but not the main topic.  Being able to search by who posted has helped me find the information.

      Hope this helps.

Thanks for getting back to us, Tim. At least you seem to think that the threaded post archive will be back some day soon, which is very reassuring. Thank you for looking into this issue for us.

Thank you Tim for getting back to us! It's such an important way for all of us to gain knowledge from other people's treatment or journey with melanoma. It's wonderful that it's coming back. Thank you for all of your hard work!
