How to contact MPIP members with new website

Forums General Melanoma Community How to contact MPIP members with new website

    Hi,

I am a senior citizen and get confused when it comes to computer things.

With the old website you could go to the profile page of the MPIP member and you were able to email the member using the website form.

I have looked on the profile pages and I cannot determine how I can send a "private" message to the member.

Please tell me how to contact MPIP members via their profile page or any other way.

    Thank You

    Josie

It appears that functionality didn't make it to the new website.  Please email Tim Turnham to request it be put back on the site.  TTurnham@melanoma.org.

Yes, the private message functionality still exists. If you click on a member's name, you will eventually see their profile page (be patient– they are slow to load). Next to the "View" tab is a "Contact' tab. The Contact tab will allow you to send a private message to the member. Perhaps you have to be a member and be logged in to see the "Contact" tab, I don't know, but it is there.

Oh sure, NOW I see it.  So either the person I chose to test the feature didn't have a contact or I chose to look at my own profile and it didn't show up.  I don't remember now.  angry  Getting old sucks!  Glad you posted the correct info.

You're right, Janner. When I click on my own name I don't see the "Contact" tab. Now we know.

By the way, getting old is the price we pay for becoming wise. Don't knock it. smiley

Thank you so much for helping me .

Please answer one more question for me.

In the old website, you were able to click and see a member PAST posts.  I cannot find where to click to see other PAST posts of a member.

        Have a nice weekend.

Yes, unfortunately that is one function that we lost when they re-did the web site– sob! (The smiley/sad faces don't work anymore, either.) They have been fine-tuning and fixing such glitches for the last 2 weeks, so hopefully the post posts will be available again soon.

        Good Morning,

Yesterday, I tried the the "private message" function on the new website. I sent ouy a few "private" messages and have received NO responsed back.

Yes, maybe the MPIP members did not want to repy to my message.

HOWEVER< can anyone VERIFY the private message function is working with the new website.

        Thanks for your help.
