Hey guys.
About three weeks ago i had two suspicious moles removed from my back and front. Carrying on to this present day, I felt a tingling sensation on the side of my foot. At first i thought it was nothing as this was a common occurace for the past 1-2 months, but when i closely investigated it, I was surprised to see a dark mole there (the tingling sensation was at the exact same place as the mole).

At first i thought it was nothing as this was a common occurace for the past 1-2 months, but when i closely investigated it, I was surprised to see a dark mole there (the tingling sensation was at the exact same place as the mole).
So i ended up researching on the internet (worst thing you can do) and found out that a tingling/burning sensation is an early symptom of Melanoma. As you can guess, I'm terrified. I don't know if the Melanoma has spread if it's changed or anything.
I have a dermatologist appointment booked previously for the 27th of september.. But i don't know how I'm going to cope till then.

Even tingling/itching moles do not have to be melanoma. But "itching" would be a sign of change, and change is something to get checked out. Certainly there are many of us here who have had moles that have changed or itched or whatever that were NOT melanoma. Get it checked out, but understand that it doesn't have to be melanoma. Pre-worry never helped anyone, so just go to your scheduled appointment, request that it be biopsied and get the results. THEN when you know if something is benign or not, you can do your research!

Call and move your appointment up if you are worried. No sense in stressing for three weeks!

Please calm down. Was this mole there when your saw your derm 3 weeks ago? I am sure he did a fuul skin check and if he was not worried/noticed this one, then you should also not stress yourself. If this is "new", then nothing will change in 3 weeks, just wait to see your doctor.

Yes, moles can change to darker and also to lighter. All can be benign, atypical or melanoma. There are "atypical" moles that show some signs of atypical characteristics that are not considered melanoma. Unfortunately, there is no absolute way to know for sure the "makeup" of a mole without a biopsy.
