I am the caregiver for my 75 yr old father who lives with us. He first had malignant melanoma removed in March 2020. PET scans were fine until Nov 2021 when it metastasized to lung. It was resectable , caught early and small, surgically removed, margins and lymph nodes clear in January 2022. November also found it spread about 3 inches higher up in the arm from the original spot. The very bad news, it seems, is pathology shows NRAS mutation. This scares me to death. Brain MRI results today show brain is clear. PET results tomorrow but oncologist estimates it is spreading (because of lung metastasis) and gave him 6 months to live. I’m looking for input from anyone who has some on NRAS mutation, treatment and anything hopeful. Thank you.
