Hi, My Dad was told one time that everything was alright by the Doctor but it wasn't. He always gets the pathologist report and reads it because Doctors make mistakes too. His Doctor did when he read the report it said he it could not rule out melanoma so they recommended a re-excise to make sure. If I was you I would request more of it taken out to rule out anything and check the margins. Always read your reports because sometimes Doctors do make mistakes. When my Dad went back to tell the Doctor what he read the Doctor just said sorry I missed that info. He decided to change Doctors and now he goes to the Mayo Clinic for his check-ups.

I understand what you're saying, but my brother had two melanomas in less than a year. He is getting check every two months at Mayo Clinic and he had several atypical moles (more than 10) It says that people who have more than 10 are 12 times the risk of developing melanoma compared with the general population. When you leave a cell on a person like my brother that you cannot monitor. I think it might be a bad choice since begin moles can turn to melanomas. Leaving a cell in the deep margins are not good because by the time you spot something wrong it could be too late. That is the way I am asking someone with experience with what my bother is going through to please reply. Thank You

Went back to doctor today to have a closer look at his body. He wanted 2 more off and the doctor wanted 4. So he got a total of 6 taken off! I'm hoping none come back worse than this previous case and that they are either stage 1 or just altogether normal.
