Hi Ed … thanks for getting back to me on this … and great to hear that you too are seeing benefits of being in the trial πŸ™‚

and yes, I think that you are right – if I decide to exit the trial, then I shall not be able to re-enter , should I recur – I should then have to wait for either Pembrolizumab or Nivolumab to be approved for hospital use before being able to get back into treatment (today Pembro is offered in a compasionate setting here in Denmark, but that is likely to change soon, as it is going through final market entry steps)

If I exit I also think that I will enter a formal follow-up programme with regular scans – this will allow BMS and doctors to collect data about recurrances and possible relapses of the disease

      hmm … decisions, decisions ….

Thank you for the swift and elaborate answer, Celeste – much appreciated ! … and yes, I'm obviously very very happy about my NED status, but of course also interested in returning to a more normal live w/o the very regular hospital visits πŸ™‚

hoping that other of the 945 checkmate 067 patients (of which about 70 are complete responders like I) can offer their considerations & opinions

      thanks in advance

Hi Ed … like you, i have been on the bms checkmate 067 trial since jan'14 and NED since aug'14 … an amazing result (and with few/no side effects) !!! I'm still in the trial but considering if and when to exit ?!? What is your current status ?

and for other patients on checkmate 067 who like me is a complete responder, what are your considerations related to leaving the trial ???

      best regards

hi brian … thanks for the insights – very useful! Im a stage 4 melanoma patient from Denmark having been on the BMS Ipi/Nivo phase 3 trial myselft since Jan'14 … and with amazing results!! I was declared NED already by Aug'14 and have experienced next to no side effects !!! as Im NED and still on the trial my considerations are for how long to stay on the drug (assuming im not even on the trial leg which only receiced Ipi during the first 3 mths:-) … do u have more data/details pertaining to your comment about patient having stopped Nivo, then had a recurrence, started on Nivo again and then seen further disease regression ?

      thanks in advance …
