Our children are older, but when my husband received his diagnosis back in September, our world ground to a halt as we worried about if his time with the children was limited. Also, when my oldest was a newborn, I had a cancer scare.

My husband’s WLE/ SLNB is on Wednesday. We’ve been so busy trying to learn about Melanoma in general and to get all the paperwork, preop stuff done in time to have it on this date (as the doctor’s next available date wasn’t until month end), that we haven’t focused on the procedure itself.

WLE is on his cheek so SLNB will be somewhere in neck. …Read more

Tim, I’m new to these boards (husband just diagnosed) and I have been reading about your TIL journey. I really hope that your quality of life/recovery had improved even more over the past couple weeks and I really really hope that you get (or got) great news from your scans.

You are 100% right that even having to wait through the weekend after a diagnosis is torture. So if I read this correctly, it sounds like it was approximately 16 days from contacting MSK until surgery? I know there are delays in surgeries at many hospitals because they are full of COVID patients – I’m thinking/hoping that si…Read more

Hi, My husband found out Friday that a biopsy came back positive for melanoma. I have been reading on this forum and learned so much already, but it’s only a tiny fraction of what we need to learn. The details:

I don’t have the biopsy report (yet). He’s had a mole on his face for decades. Not that large – he had a derm look at 5 years ago…Read more
