Chelsea are said to be exploring negotiations with former manager Antonio Conte as they focus on signing at least one top player this summer and have a war chest of PS200million at their disposal. According to reports, Chelsea may go all-out in search of reinforcements this summer.
Chelsea’s search for a new manager
Chelsea are reported to be considering talks with former manager Antonio Conte about replacing Maurizio Sarri. The Italian spent two years at Chelsea, winning both the Premier League and FA Cup during his first season before falling out of favor with both the club’s board and senior players.
Chelsea are in need of a fresh start after Roman Abramovich’s tenure as manager has brought them one of their worst seasons. After losing nine of their opening 16 matches, they remain just one point above relegation territory. A change in leadership could provide Chelsea with an opportunity for redemption.
The search for a new manager is expected to continue, with many of football’s biggest names linked with the job. Zinedine Zidane, in particular, has enjoyed two incredibly successful stints at Real Madrid and could make an attractive replacement for Mourinho.

Conte’s return to west London
Chelsea have made an incredible start to the season under Conte, rocketing to the top of the Premier League and cementing themselves as a force in his 3-4-3 formation. Additionally, Conte’s presence amongst his players has served as a motivating force that has enabled them to build confidence and resolve in their matches.
In his first season as manager, Conte led Chelsea to a Premier League title, Champions League victory over Mourinho’s United and an unforgettable FA Cup final. Unfortunately, that cup proved insufficient as Chelsea finished 30 points behind Manchester City in their second campaign under Conte’s guidance.
Thomas Tuchel, 48 years old and considered a potential successor to Maurizio Sarri after his dismissal by Chelsea in December. Other names have also been linked with the job; Thomas Tuchel being one of them.

Conte’s reputation
Conte, a veteran manager, was widely sought-out to replace Jose Mourinho when the club’s relegation worries started growing in 2015. Despite an uneventful league campaign in his first season with Chelsea, Conte quickly established himself as one of football’s most promising bosses.
He possesses a strong character and is widely respected as an inspiring coach. His intense training methods ensure his players reach their peak physical and psychological performance levels.
He strongly believes in teamwork and prefers playing with a defensively compact team, allowing midfielders to break forward and attack while attacking players can drop back and join up with the defence. Furthermore, he encourages his players to take ownership of their performances and does not tolerate any type of bullying within the dressing room.

Conte’s experience
Antonio Conte has earned 10 winner’s medals during his managerial career. After winning Serie A with Juventus after the Calciopoli scandal, he led Chelsea from tenth place to champions in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
That is an impressive list of accomplishments and one that puts Conte in a league of his own, surpassing Jose Mourinho or Carlo Ancelotti – both considered the pinnacle of Chelsea managers. While both men are revered as legends at the club, Conte deserves more credit for his performances at Chelsea than either one.
His tenure at the club was one of their most successful in recent memory, culminating in him winning the FA Cup, finishing fifth in the Premier League and reaching the Champions League knockout rounds.
Unfortunately, Conte was not fully supported by the board after his initial success. As a result, his second season in west London was an abject failure.
