      I haven't experienced this personally, but I did read about someone who experienced bruising when her mets did the "grow so fast they choke off their own blood supply and die in the center" thing.  It's possible it could be related to the MM.  It's also possible that the MM has screwed up your friend's blood counts so that the bruises are having a hard time healing.  I hope someone with more knowledge will post–sorry to be so little help.
